Colts cricket

There is a strong history of colts crickets at Storrington. A significant number of the clubs current playing members came through the junior teams in the 80's and 90's. After a period without a junior section, the club has re-launced colts cricket from scratch. Currently with just one under 10s team in the West Area Youth League, it is the intention to grow the junior section each year and eventually run teams at different age groups.

Match Reports

Tuesday 13th May

Storrington Colts (101 a/o) lost to Worthing Colts 146 a/o by 45 runs

An under strength Junior Swans side were no match for a very slick and accomplished Worthing outfit. Captained by their county starlet Nick Oxley Worthing batted first and scored 146. Good bowling performances from debutante Harry Good, brother of skipper Tom and Dan ‘the man’ Wheatley kept the Worthing score down to a respectable total.

Storrington lost early wickets in their quest for runs and could only manage a meagre 101 to lose by 45 runs despite a couple of cameos from newcomers Toby and James.

A good effort by a scratch Junior swans against a side that has already beaten Arundel and look destined for top spot in the league.

Sunday 15th June - Too Good to be true as cygnets bag first win over the season

Storrington Under 10s (136) bt Littlehampton Under 10s (95) by 41 runs

Tight bowling by Anthony Morris and skipper Tom Good restricted a young looking Littlehampton side to a very modest total, Morris finishing with 3 wickets. After a slow start the Good brothers Tom and Harry saw the Cygnets through to victory with Dan Wheatley weighing in with a few lusty hits. Next up is Pagham at home on the 22nd
